This is a local mom-and-pop ramen place that specializes in food that'll warm your soul. They have great quality ramen along with having some really good sides (I'm partial to their Char Siu Fried Rice). My favorite dish from them is their Pork Belly Ramen. The slices of pork belly they serve are so fatty and savory, the flavor really does melt on your tongue! They also offer a complimentary dessert of Sesame Balls which is a perfect way to end such a heartwarming meal.
If you're looking for a cozy place and are craving noodles, I couldn't recommend this place more!

Hands down the absolute best breakfast spot on the entire island if you're craving some delicious, home-style cooking that's even better than your mom's (if you can believe it!). Personally, I can't get enough of their Garden Eggs Benedict. The holidaze sauce they serve with it is so tasty, it'll have you wanting to lick the plate clean (no shame, I've been there!). And let me tell you, their menu is stacked with mouthwatering options. From their homemade cornbread to their massive banana pancakes that could pass for a medium pizza, and even their four meat loco moco (featuring burger, spam, Portuguese sausage, and smoked meat), they've got it all. Not to mention, the dining area has that cozy, down-home vibe, and the staff is absolutely amazing. Plus, it's worth mentioning that this restaurant is proudly veteran-owned and family-operated!

A local spot that has brought joy to the military families and community on Oahu is Drive Thru Joe! I wanted to find a local coffee/breakfast spot that I could fit into my morning routine and feel 10000% good about the quality of coffee/breakfast and who I am supporting. Drive Thru Joe Coffee was founded by Joe Real, USAF veteran in 2017. You can find him and his pup (Lieutenant Beans) traveling to each of his 6 locations on the Island Military installations and all of their personnel is 100% veteran operated as well. You can usually find me and my husband ordering a striker (red bull mango lemonade) in the afternoon or my personal favorites the WTF (what the fluff) WarMachine cold brew! As a mom on-the-go I appreciate the fast drive through aspect but really I enjoy watching them personally craft these quality drinks and sandwiches in person at the window. (I highly recommend grabbing up some unique stickers too for the memories!)

This restaurant has all the classic Filipino foods but with a modern take. Everything tastes fresh like it was made just after you ordered it. I always get the Chef’s Special: Adobo Fried Rice Omelette with Lechon Kawali. ...Ube pancakes for breakfast or dessert.

When it comes to freshness, they are giving! They first opened in Kailua back in 2006, and now they have a total of 5 locations scattered all over Oahu. I usually swing by the Mililani, Kapolei, or PearlRidge spots, and no matter which one I choose, the quality and service are always top-notch. Their menu offers a wide range of fresh-made salads, sandwiches, wraps, and more. They're dedicated to supporting local farmers and fishermen, ensuring that their customers get the absolute freshest ingredients. Trust me, if you pay them a visit, you absolutely must try their tomato bisque. As a fellow tomato soup lover, I can guarantee you won't find a better one anywhere else!

My all time favorite local spot to grab food on Oahu has to be Waialua's Lunch Wagon! It is right across from a park and on a beautiful day, it is such a treat to grab this delish food and eat outside! While the truck sometimes has uncertain hours (definitely follow their IG!) and sometime sells out quick for the day, their Ahi Katsu and Poke plate is the best you'll ever have guaranteed! Their fish is fresh caught daily, portions are large, and each plate is truly a meal to remember. Some tips - be sure to bring (1) cash since they are cash only and (2) a drink since they only sell the food.

Miki's is one of my fave spot, and they are a must for our busy locals! They are located in Pearl City, open from 8pm-3am, and perfect for a late night craving! They serve the delicious Teri Meatballs with of course the side Mac Salad. You have to try their famous Kalua Pork, my fav!! The owners are filipinos, so of course can't forget the authentic filipino dishes, such as Pork Adobo! The service is reay good and fast, and because the food is soo ono, I go at least once a week!

So a favorite place I like to go and sit down to eat is Shokudo which is next to Ala Moana. I'm a sucker for Japanese food and sushi, particularly nigiri. But my absolute favorite thing to have from Shokudo is the Honey Toast. 🤤 One thing that always needs to happen at @shokudojapanese and that's ordering Honey Toast. #HoneyToast #bestdessertever

Serving up some of the greatest and speediest Vietnamese food on the island. This place is mine and my husband’s go-to for the ultimate weekend dinner plans. It's a family-owned joint that's been around for quite a while, and they're known for their friendly staff and their Pho that's to die for. Personally, I always opt for their Vegetable Pho, while my husband is obsessed with their Combination Pho.

I have made these brownies using this exact recipe for a good eight to nine years now. It's clean, has minimal ingredients, and is SO darn tasty. The other awesome news is you can make them in an air fryer or oven, making them super easy to make!
Now something to ask yourself is: Can you have too much chocolate in a brownie? The answer is, TOO MUCH CHOCOLATE DOES NOT EXIST. The more the merrier!
That’s what makes a brownie, a brownie: the deep rich fudgy taste, extra gooey, amidst all the chocolate and chewy. I’m sorry, but if you finish a brownie with clean fingers, you’re doing it wrong!
Here are a few things to note for your brownie recipe journey:
🍫 These brownies can easily be made vegan/dairy-free. All you have to do is swap your chocolate chips for vegan ones and use a flax egg instead of a regular egg.
🍫 You only need ONE bowl, all of the ingredients can be mixed together!
🍫 There is no added sugar which is fantastic!
🍫 No electric hand mixer is needed, a spoon or whisk will suffice to make these amazing brownies.
🍫 These delicious brownies are gluten-free!
🍫 Spray your pan well or use parchment/ baking paper since the brownies get sticky. This will also make for easier cleanup as well.
🍫 I added gluten-free Oreos because I love Oreos but feel free to add other toppings such as coconut, walnuts, etc.
🍫 I stored these brownies for up to 8 days and they freeze perfectly for months.
🍫 These aren’t your average brownies, they are over-the-top brownies that are superior and delish. Make it with caution, you may end up eating the whole pan and then some.
Gluten-Free: These delicious fudge brownies are made to be gluten-free, which is perfect if you are avoiding or are allergic to gluten!
Easily Vegan/Dairy-free : As mentioned, all you need to do is swap your chocolate chips for vegan ones and use a flax egg instead of a regular egg! An easy, simple way for these brownies to be enjoyed by even more people!
Is there enough for friends? These brownies can easily be shared between a handful of friends, but we won't blame you if you end up eating them all yourself! Don't worry, we won't tell anyone 😉
Preheat the oven to 350F or put your air fryer on the bake setting while you make your brownie mixture.
Line with a baking sheet/parchment or spray the heck out of your pan! If using a skillet, spray well and eat with a fork.
Melt the chocolate chips in a mixing bowl and stir until smooth.
Add room temperature apple sauce (room temp is important) then add egg and vanilla. Whisk/stir to combine.
Add the cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Then whisk/stir to combine to form your brownie mixture.
Pour into prepared dish, smooth and even into the dish.
If making in an air fryer, bake for 20-24 min. Until the middle isn’t gooey and wet.
If baking in the oven, bake for 30-35 minutes, the center should not be gooey and wet when done.
Cool in pan for 20 minutes.
Carefully transfer the brownies to a cooling rack.
Enjoy! (These brownies are great cold or warm 😋)
With fall slowly coming to a close and winter right on the doorstep,
brownies are the perfect way to stay comfortable and warm!
Stay cozy and enjoy these Fudge Brownies,
especially if you're having a night in and want to treat 'yo self!

Growing up I had an extremely unhealthy relationship with food, which then affected my self esteem and body image. As I got older, it became apparent that healthy relationships in all aspects of life come from smaller, smarter choices. I started re-creating all my unhealthy favorites into healthier recipes, with whole food ingredients, less sugar and higher protein. This later on has translated into my own healthy baking business, Blooming In Health.
Bloom is ultimately a reflection of me, I love my treats and sweets but without all the added calories, gluten and sugar. We have proudly sold over a million protein donuts in Canada. We are also launching a gluten free 1 to 1 flour coming soon, so be on the lookout for that.
One thing I have learned through my personal journey is obstacles and hurdles arise almost on a daily basis. Everyday is a new opportunity to work on yourself with the right education and support. I want to help those around me create healthy meals and treats. After being through it all, I have learnt that health and fitness is about so much more than just looking, eating or training a certain way. It’s about our physical and mental health and finding what works best for you as an individual. It’s about being strong, being active, consuming foods that are going to nourish our body and fuel our lives. It’s about having a healthy relationship with food and most importantly, being able to love and accept yourself at every stage, every step of the way. This is why I will continue to share my recipes, what works for me, and spread positivity.
About 4 years ago I became a Brand Ambassador for Crimson tavernorlando. A couple years later, here I am, sharing my recipes and tips on their blog. Creating my own recipes and seeing others create them for themselves, friends and family is something I am super passionate about. I am grateful for the opportunity to share them, not only on my own platforms, but through the Crimson tavernorlando community as well. I hope it inspires others to get creative with your own recipes and live a healthier lifestyle without limiting your favorite foods.
Fall is my absolute favorite season and mainly for the pumpkin treats (not going to sugar coat that). These pumpkin twinkie rolls literally have all the flavor of your classic twinkies but with a fall season pumpkin twist. This Pumpkin Twinkie Roll recipe is completely gluten free and next to zero sugar. I’m all for making my favorite childhood foods but with a healthier twist.
I know I emphasize a lot making my favorite childhood desserts healthy. I do this because growing up I struggled a lot with body dysmorphia, food obsessing, restricting and constant dieting. I had a very unhealthy relationship with food where I wouldn’t eat anything with sugar, high fat or anything that didn’t fit in my “diet”. This started at a very early age. Until I grew up, educated myself and understood the power of food and what it truly does for you and your body, I was able to heal that relationship. You never have to restrict yourself but rather find healthier alternatives that truly benefit and fuel your body.
No need to go to the pumpkin patch to enjoy the sweetness of pumpkin treats! This is the perfect fall dessert and the easiest to bring for Thanksgiving dinner (also a great excuse to enjoy pumpkin flavor) or to enjoy at home with your coffee (maybe a pumpkin spice latte perhaps?). You will definitely want to make this one over and over again. It has spongey, moist, fluffy cake like texture for the roll and a sweet vanilla cream cheese filling inside.
Pumpkin Cake Dough :
Vanilla Filling :
Gluten Free : This Pumpkin Twinkie recipe is Gluten Free! If you'd like to add some gluten though, feel more than welcome to sub out GF flour with regular flour!
Extra Hungry? The current recipe makes about 10 Pumpkin Twinkies, but feel welcome to double the recipe for more to love, share, and (pumpkin) spice it up!
Adjust the oven rack to the middle. Pre heat oven to 350F.
Line a 10 x 15 inch baking sheet with parchment paper.
Using a stand mixer or hand mixer. Use whisk attachment. Whisk the eggs and sugar together until pale, thick and fluffy. About triple the volume. This should take about 4-5 minutes on a high speed setting (you’ll know).
Add the pumpkin puree and whisk for about 30 seconds until it's mixed in to the batter.
In a separate bowl sift together your oat flour, gluten free flour, xanthum gum, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger.
Add the dry sifted ingredients to the egg / pumpkin mixture and whisk for about 30 seconds until there are zero flour clumps. Scrape down sides of the bowl and remix so there aren’t any unmixed patches.
Transfer the pumpkin cake batter into the lined baking sheet and smooth it out into an even layer, tap the baking sheet on the counter a couple of times to help it settle / spread out.
Bake at 350F for about 10-11 minutes or until well risen, golden on top, spongy to touch and inserted tooth pick comes out clean.
Take out the pumpkin cake of the oven and allow to cool at room temperature.
Now it's time to make the frosting! Use a hand mixer or stand mixer, use the whisk attachments.
In a large bowl whisk together the whipping cream and confectioner sugar until soft peaks form. YUM.
In a separate bowl whisk cream cheese until smooth.
Add all vanilla filling ingredients together and whisk again for about 40 seconds until well combined and soft peaks form.
Once the sponge part has cooled, leave the pumpkin sponge cake in the baking sheet and slide it onto the counter, CAREFULLY.
Cut off any loose, awkward ends around the pumpkin sponge cake.
Spread an even layer of vanilla icing all over the top of the pumpkin sponge cake, all the way to the edges.
Turn the pumpkin sponge cake so a short edge is close to you. So carefully start rolling it. Be mindful with this part. I’ve made this recipe a couple times now and haven’t had an issue but was still super gentle. Make sure to roll the pumpkin sponge cake fairly tight to avoid holes in your roll. Your pumpkin roll should be roughly 10 inches, the size of the baking sheet.
Dust the pumpkin roll with some confectioner sugar.
Cut the pumpkin roll in about 1 inch slices, wiping the knife in between each cut.
Serve these tasty little Pumpkin Twinkies and enjoy!
Especially this time of year, our sweet tooth definitely comes out! We hope you love this Pumpkin Twinkie Roll recipe and that it kicks your sweets craving without all the additional sugars.
Cozy up and enjoy the Pumpkin Twinkie Rolls with it's perfect warm beverage match - a Pumpkin Spice latte (or if you prefer tea, Rooibos Chai)!
I have such a passion for baking and sharing recipes with you all. Whenever I get down in the kitchen I think of the good old days where my Oma and I would spend hours in her kitchen baking the tastiest desserts. I don’t know how much help I was at the time or if I was just the sampler. Regardless I was lucky enough to be sitting on a stool, helping at times, watching, licking the spoons, making a bigger mess then she needed and getting to try all the delicious things she made. I owe to her for a lot of my baking inspiration. These are memories I cherish forever and remember when I’m baking away in the kitchen.

Mood when you match your fav workout set with a sparkling summer seltzer!
WARNING: These drinks may cause extreme happiness!!!
I don’t know about you, but when I have a fancy looking drink in hand, or a fancy cup for my drink- my mood immediately goes up!
The beautiful thing about seltzers is they can be sipped after a hard days work, on the go or a fun midday pick-me-up!
I love a good soda as much as the next gal, but something about fresh fruit in addition to the bubbly fizz of these seltzers gets me excited to do the extra steps. (I’ll say this multiple times, I promise it’s worth it!)
This summer we all came to an agreement to fantasize the little things in life & this absolutely includes turning a simple daily favorite into something extra special. Luckily, with all the new seltzers and bubbly waters on the market, you are bound to find something to enjoy!
We took inspiration from the lovely colors of our BLOOM Collection & turned them into refreshing summer seltzers. Skip the drive-thru & enjoy the bloom lifestyle with us. 🌺
These recipes yield for one drink each, but can be doubled or tripled as needed. It's a fact that refreshing drinks taste better when enjoyed with friends!
"I like my drinks bubbly & refreshing, just like my personality."
The blackberry mint fizz is a cult classic that I just had to include. In my opinion, mint makes everything so refreshing & the blackberries create a rounded out taste at the end! This recipe is a heavy hitter and not too sweet (for those who don’t like super sweet drinks!)
My personal favorite seltzer. There’s something about the color and the light crisp sweetness of this drink that will never get old. Bundaberg just does it right with this one. The easiest of the recipes by far - pour, squeeze & enjoy!
Stay with me here on this recipe, I promise it's worth it. The light icy hint of Lavender from the vitamin water MAKES the recipe. I prefer sparkling Lemonade mixed in, but carbonated water or soda will absolutely do the trick with this seltzer!
The prettiest and most posh of them all. If you want to feel like you’re on holiday in a private cabana, Lilly white peach is for you! I find it easier to have a super ripe white peach for muddling (you can strain if you do not like the chunks in your beverage at the end). This one is best served super chilled!
If you have little ones - let them join in (with supervision) and watch their faces light up when you ask for assistance! In our experience they thoroughly enjoy the "muddling" of fruits part and watching their reaction after the fizz in the final pour.
We hope you have as much fun & enjoyment as I did creating these Seltzers! It is our pleasure to bring such inspiring and whimsical drinks year-round. Let us know if you want to see more seasonal seltzers! Make sure to tag us on socials if you do. 😘
I don't know about you guys, but I am weak when it comes to child hood treats. They are so delicious. I grew up eating pop tarts! If you're a 90s kid, you probably have too. As I got older and got into more of a healthy lifestyle, I haven't really had pop tarts since. This recipe I am about to share with you is unbelievably easy to make - almost as easy as unboxing a pop tart and putting it in the toaster.
Making my favorite unhealthy recipes into healthier recipes that accommodate to my adult dietary needs is something I am super passionate about. So the gluten free and sugar free options are not necessary, but for myself I prefer it. I have a gluten sensitivity and I try my best to keep my sugar intake low.
These pop tarts only require TWO ingredients, they quickly air fry to golden flake-y perfection, and then get drizzled in a super simple, classic sweet icing. Oh. And don’t forget the sprinkles.
2 packages of Gluten Free refrigerated pie crusts
16 tablespoons pie filling (or preserves) - I used a strawberry stevia sweetened jam.
1 cup powdered sugar - I used swerve confectioner ( sugar free )
2 Tablespoons Milk
Sprinkles
Choose your flavor. I did strawberry jam filling for these pop tarts but there is so many variations you can do. Use any type of Fruit, cherries, apples (omg the McDonald's apple baked pies are also so easy to replicate), blueberries, raspberries, any type of jelly! You can use any type of pie filling as well, just keep in mind to not use any fillings that are too watery. Chocolate chips and Nutella are also great for both filling and icing for the top. Make yourself a Nut Butter flavor using peanut butter and jam, almond butter blueberry crumble etc. For a Brown Sugar Cinnamon tart, use cinnamon, a little flour and brown sugar - mix together for a filling - SO GOOD. For icing, you can also mix it up using cream cheese.
Gluten Free : This recipe is Gluten Free! If you'd like to add some gluten though, feel more than welcome to sub out GF refrigerated pie crusts with regular ones!
Vegetarian? This sweet treat is Vegetarian-friendly!
Extra Hungry? The current recipe makes about 6 pop tarts, but feel welcome to double the recipe for more to love!
Roll. To get started with these gluten and sugar free pop tarts, roll out the two pie crusts to about a quarter of an inch thick onto a lightly floured surface. You may have to add a little of your own gluten free flour if its sticky and wet.
Cut. Then, slice the pie dough into four rectangles or into equal squares.
Fill. Next, spoon out two heaping tablespoons of tart filling in the middle of half of the dough rectangles but leave ½-inch around the edges.
Crimp. Immediately lay one of the other rectangles on top, crimping the edges with a fork to seal the edges. Put two small holes in the top of each tart to release steam.
Preheat. Meanwhile, set the air fryer to 360 degrees F to preheat.
Spray. Then, spray the basket of the fryer with cooking spray and place each tart inside, leaving room on each side for air to circulate.
Fry. Finally, arrange each tart in the air fryer basket in a single layer without touching each other. Then, cook for 8 to 10 minutes until the edges are a golden color. After that, transfer to a cooling rack.
Mix the icing. Last, use a small bowl to mix the ingredients for the icing.
Cool. Let the tarts sit for about 30 minutes to cool completely before icing them.
Frost. Last but not least, frost each pop tart and add some sprinkles! ENJOY!!
Don’t overcrowd the air fryer: Be sure to allow space between each pop tart so the circulating air can cook the pop tarts evenly. If you need to, cook the tarts in batches.
Leave an Edge: You’ll want to make sure you leave an edge so that you can seal your pop tarts properly. You don’t want the filling oozing out all over the air fryer.
Storing Leftovers: Keep leftovers in the fridge in a sealed container for up to 5 days. Freeze for up to 4 months. To reheat, thaw the frozen air fryer pop tarts. Place in the air fryer at 360 degrees for 3 minutes.
Know Your Air Fryer: As with all appliances, no two air fryers are exactly alike. It’s important to know how your air fryer cooks. Feel free to adjust the temperature and time as you see fit. This is a starting point. Keep an eye on the first batch you make to see how your air fryer bakes these incredible pop tarts.
Poke the Dough: Be sure to poke holes in the dough before you air fry the pop tarts. This allows the steam to escape from inside and keeps the dough from bubbling up, which allows the crust to cook more evenly.

As I got older, it became apparent that healthy relationships in all aspects of life come from smaller, smarter choices. I started creating all my unhealthy favorites into healthier recipes, with whole food ingredients, less sugar and higher protein. This later on has translated into my own healthy baking business, Blooming In Health.
Bloom is ultimately a reflection of me, I love my treats and sweets but without all the added calories, gluten and sugar. We have proudly sold over a million protein donuts in Canada. We are also launching a gluten free 1 to 1 flour come August 2022, so be on the lookout for that.
It’s about our physical and mental health. It’s about finding what works best for you as an individual.
OK guys, I take my guac very very serious. I have made tons of different guacamole and have come to realize the most authentic guac is the best. This is for real the only recipe you will need.
Avocado is a staple food in our house and has been for years now. It's also a really good way to get your healthy fats in. I love adding avocado to smoothes, avocado toast, eggs, fajitas, tacos. I for sure have avocado in one way or another daily. This recipe is best to snack with fresh veggies and tortilla chips, but also pairs wonderfully with a meal! Add to your at-home tacos and burritos - or on my personal favorite - Avocado toast with some eggs and extra sprouts and radishes!
Having this recipe as a base you can easily add in corn, spice for spicy guac, if you wanted to add some heat.
So in this particular recipe we held off on cilantro, not everyone in our household is a fan unfortunately for me because I am cilantros number one fan.
I hope you enjoy this guac as much as we do!
2 Ripe Avocados
1/4 Diced Red Onion (optional)
1/2 Diced Pepper (optional)
Gluten Free : Current Guac Recipe is Gluten Free! Just grab some GF Tortilla Chips or veggies to dip.
Dairy Free: Current Guac Recipe is Dairy Free!
Vegan or Vegetarian? Current Guac Recipe is Vegetarian and Vegan friendly!
Extra Hungry? Double the recipe, or pair with tacos, a burrito, or any protein for a filling meal.
Mix it up! Some optional add-ins that we think you may love - cilantro and/or corn!
Turn up the heat! Add in some cayenne pepper or spicy pepper to turn this mild guac up a couple notches to medium or spicy!
This guac is best enjoyed fresh.
Prep time: 10 minutes
Total time: 10 minutes
Servings: 4
Peel the avocados and cut out the pit. Dice the avocado. I honestly prefer it a little chunky but its your personal preference.
Finely chop or, better yet, press the Garlic using a garlic press.
Add in Red Onion, Tomato, Peppers diced.
Add Salt.
Squeeze Lime all over.
Mix it up, garnish / add Cilantro if desired.
Pair the final guac with your favorite chips, veggies, or meal! Enjoy!

I think my absolute favorite thing about creating recipes is the challenge I get when I take an old unhealthy one and remake it with a healthy twist.
My biggest weakness is my sweet tooth. I am big on creating healthy treat recipes that taste amazing, but don’t sway me from my goals. I also like to keep things simple; having recipes that are super straight forward that don’t require 347 different ingredients is nice too!
With this Banana Cream Pie Recipe, we love that it's as sweet as it is health-conscious! There's options to sub out the ingredients for various options that best suit your tastes and preferences, but at the end of the day, you don't have to omit the yummy flavor of pie out of your diet to feel healthy.
Have no regrets about indulging your sweet tooth with this guilt- free, 100 calorie per serving Banana Cream Pie recipe!
In the mood to mix it up? An amazing twist on strawberry shortcake can also be accomplished by simply replacing the bananas with fresh strawberries!
We used Gluten Free, Low Fat, and Sugar alternatives with these ingredients, but feel welcome to change these out with others if that suits your tastes better!
This recipe is about 100 calories per serving!
Combine 1 pack of Sugar Free Vanilla Pudding and 1.5 cup coconut milk. Mix with an electric hand mixer on medium for 2-3 minutes. Until thick pudding consistency.
In a separate bowl, combine 3/4 cups Graham Crumbs + 1/4 cups Melted Butter (or Coconut Oil) and mix.
Take 4 small jars or two bigger ones or even use bowls, honestly whatever you have! Start by layering the graham crumb mixture at the bottom, then layer with pudding.
Cut Banana into small slices, then layer on top of the pudding.
Add Cool Whip to the top with a little sprinkle of graham crumbs.

This delicious Chicken Fried Rice is like having authentic version but without all the extra grease and calories. Here's our healthy take on it, so easy to make with the benefit of also having the most amazing flavor layers.
Ever since I can remember, I've always ordered the chicken fried rice on the menu of my favorite Chinese Restaurants. I absolutely LOVE it. This is a staple in our home, we for sure have it once a week. Busy lives means easier dinners but keeping them healthy.
This recipe is easy enough to sub out chicken for shrimp, tofu etc. or add in for extra protein! You can also swap the rice for cauliflower if you are wanting a lower carb meal. Lastly if you want to add in more veggies, feel free to do so!
Also a little pro tip for you.. in a hurry or exhausted from a long day of work, buy a cooked whole chicken from the grocery store. They are nearly the same price as raw chicken breasts/thighs and taste just as good. I do this about 50% of the time just depends on what my days are like. SAVES EVEN MORE TIME!!!
Gluten Free : Sub a generic Soy Sauce with a Gluten Free version
Dairy Free: Current Recipe is Dairy Free!
Vegan or Vegetarian? Omit the meat entirely, sub out for more veggies or Tofu!
Not in the mood for Chicken? Sub the chicken out for Steak, Shrimp, Tofu, or omit it entirely!
Extra Hungry? Double the recipe, add extra veggies, or more protein!
Cook chicken and rice separately, cut cooked chicken into pieces, set aside.
In a large skillet or wok, preheat olive oil over medium heat and add onion and garlic. Cook until onions are soft, about 2 to 3 minutes. Stir occasionally to keep the garlic from burning.
Add peas and carrots and cook until partially thawed, 1 to 2 minutes.
Turn the heat up to medium-high and add cooked rice. Cook for another 2 to 3 minutes until rice is nice and hot and starts to brown. Add in cut up chicken pieces. Reduce heat and push rice, veggies, chicken to the sides of the pan, making a hole for the eggs.
Crack the eggs into the middle of the pan and scramble. Once eggs are cooked, stir them into the fried rice.
Mix soy sauce and sesame oil together and pour over rice. Stir until fried rice is evenly coated with sauce.
Top with chopped green onions and/or cilantro, optional.

For as long as I can remember, banana bread has been one of my top favorite snacks and treats. This one has a bit of protein in it, is gluten free, and still so dang delicious!
Eating banana bread brings me back to my childhood when my Mom would make banana bread loaves in mass and we'd toast small pieces for breakfast or a midnight snack. I especially love this recipe for not only bringing back a little piece of nostalgia, but also for re-creating that fresh-out-of-the-oven warmth in a personal portion.
If you're looking for a little snack, dessert, or breakfast, this recipe is an awesome and quick to make single serving or sharable option. Another thing you'll love is that this recipe is made up of ingredients that are healthier for your body than traditional banana bread recipes - with all the yummy flavors and deliciousness we all love!
1 large ripe banana
1 cup of oat flour
1 egg
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup protein powder (about 3 tbsp)
3 tbsp melted butter
1 tbsp brown sugar (I used Swerve Brown Sugar)
1/4 cup sugar free chocolate chips (I used the brand Lillys)
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Mix all ingredients at once, excluding the banana and chocolate chips. After mixing, then add in the 1 large banana mashed.
3. After the batter is fully mixed, then mix in the chocolate chips.
4. Portion the batter into 2 small oven safe bowls/jars.
5. Bake for 20-22 minutes, until the tops appear like the photo here. Rounded & fluffy!
6. Let it cool or enjoy it warm. We love adding an extra 1/4 cup of sugar free chocolates with a little peanut butter drizzled on top. 😍 HOLY MOLY! SO TASTY!
1 serving is roughly:

K... but actually. I don’t truly know that there is anything better than a burger or a sandwich thats homemade and just tastes GOOD. Get creative with the middle, add sprouts, pickles, guac, grilled pineapple. WHATEVER!
INGREDIENTS:
🍔 1/2 cup chopped red onions
🍔 1 clove of garlic
🍔 1/4 inch ginger
🍔 1/3 cup walnuts
🍔 1/4 cup packed cilantro
🍔 3/4 tsp salt or more depends on if the lentils were salted
🍔 3/4 tsp each of ground cumin coriander
🍔 1/2 tsp garlic
🍔 1 1/2 cups cooked brown lentils or 1 15 oz can. I used Indian brown lentils
🍔 2 tsp ketchup or bbq sauce
🍔 1 tsp oil
🍔 1 flax egg 1 tbsp flax seed meal mixed in 2.5 tbsp warm water, let sit for 2 minutes
🍔 1/4 cup gluten free breadcrumbs or regular breadcrumbs or can use flour
DIRECTIONS:
1. In a processor, process onion, garlic, ginger, walnuts and cilantro until finely chopped. Alternatively, cook the onions and garlic in 1/2 tsp oil until they are golden and then add to the processor.
2. Add the spices, salt, basil, rice, half of the cooked lentils and pulse a few times until well combined. Transfer to a bowl with the rest of the lentils. Add ketchup, oil, flax egg and mix everything until evenly mixed in. Mash a bit if needed and mix in. Taste and adjust salt, spice, herbs if needed. Add in the breadcrumbs or flour and mix in. Let the mixture chill for 10 minutes.
3. If the chilled mixture is too wet, add in more flour or breadcrumbs. The amount needed depends on the moisture in the veggies, the kind of lentils and just general mood of things in the mixture. Add more breadcrumbs or flour if too sticky wet. Add another flax egg if too crumbly to make patties.
4. Shape into 4 patties. Pack well. Heat a skillet over medium high heat. Add a drizzle of oil and spread it around. Place patties on the skillet and cook for 4 to 6 minutes per side. You can eat with vegan ranch/avocado ranch or mayo or ketchup, mustard or other dressing of choice. Add some caramelized onions or other toppings.
5. My favorite buns of choice are the O’doughs they are so good. Can also be found at most grocery stores now and Whole Foods stores.
The burger patties can also be baked. I prefer to cook them on a pan for a crispy exterior and moist juicy interior. Baking can dry the patties out a bit. If you use a good non stick pan, oil!
ENJOY!!!
Alright you guys, few ingredients and all the flavor! We know I'm all about minimal ingredients. Once you have roasted cauliflower steaks you will never go back to boiling cauliflower ever, again.
INGREDIENTS:
🤤 One cauliflower head
🤤 Olive oil
🤤 3 cloves garlic, minced
🤤 Salt and fresh cracked pepper
🤤 Italian herb mix
🤤 Fresh thyme
+ Whatever you want to top with, peanut sauce, bbq sauce etc.
DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) . Remove leaves from stem end of cauliflower. Place cauliflower core side down. Using a large knife, slice cauliflower into four steaks from the center of cauliflower, each steak should be approximatively 1/2 inch thick. Place the cauliflower steaks on a oiled baking sheet along with the broken florets.
2. Combine olive oil, minced garlic, salt, pepper, italian herbs, and thyme into a bowl. Brush the cauliflower slices generously on both sides with this mixture, then roast in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes, until golden and cooked through. You can flip the steak a halftime, but don’t have to.
3. ENJOY! Can add barbecue sauce, garnishes like parsley, cilantro etc.
I added, parsley, sprouts, peanuts and my usual peanut sauce - recipe below!
PEANUT SAUCE INGREDIENTS AND DIRECTIONS:
1. 1/2 cup plain powdered peanut powder (can be found at most health food stores).
2. 2 tbsp liquid brags, or soya sauce.
3. 3-4 tbsp water add until running consistency.
4. fresh garlic or garlic powder
5. sriracha totally optional, but I like a little ZING!
BLEND ALL INGREDIENTS AND VOILA!
When looking for the perfect pineapple, the first thing you notice you'll notice is how it looks.
When looking for the perfect pineapple, taking note of color can be helpful, but sometimes can be misleading. Be sure to consider other factors when you are choosing your pineapple. Traditionally, ripe pineapples are green-yellow in color and overripe pineapples are more dark orange.
What a lot of people don't consider that is debatably a better indicator of freshness, is the leaves. Vibrant healthy green leaves are a great indicator of a fresh pineapple. To take it a step further, if you pull on a prawn in the middle of the bunch of leaves, it should easily come out if the pineapple is ripe.
In addition to taking note of color of the fruit and leaves, there's something else to take note of - the size! The size of the pineapple isn't a good indicator of freshness - just like any fruit, you can find a tasty one that is small as well as big! In terms of size, what is more helpful to take note of is the size of the "eyes". A tastier pineapple will have "eyes" all similar in size, versus having some small and some big.
While the pineapple does have a thick exterior, texture is still a helpful indicator of a fresh and juicy pineapple. When you squeeze the pineapple, a ripe pineapple should have a little squish to it - indicating that it has a lot of juice inside. If the pineapple is solid and hard, that means that it is not ripe and it won't be as juicy.
When you pick up a pineapple, smelling the bottom is an easy way to figure out how sweet the juices are. The sweeter the smell, the sweeter the taste will be!
When picking a pineapple, one last thing that can help with picking the perfect pineapple is comparing weight for pineapples of similar size. If a pineapple is heavy for its size, it can indicate that it is full with more juice.
Happy Pineapple picking! 💕
